New Recipes for a 2020 Thanksgiving
It seems Thanksgiving is going to be a little different this year. With travel restrictions and safety concerns due to COVID-19, we are encouraged to stay home for the holidays.
In keeping with this year’s unprecedented theme (yes, we hate ourselves for saying it too) we thought we’d get really creative and maybe start some new traditions with this year’s Thanksgiving meal.
There’s no law that says you have to eat turkey on Thanksgiving. At least we don’t think there is. Don’t misunderstand, we love the idea of a pineapple glazed turkey but how about switching things up and trying ham this year?
There are those who would say that ham and pineapple are perfect together (especially on a pizza!). The beauty of this recipe is that you start with a fully-cooked, bone-in ham, sounds easy, right?
Here’s a great recipe from The Seasoned Mom to tell you just how easy it is.
Now, we think when you serve ham the traditional side dish should be scalloped potatoes. And would you believe we found the perfect recipe to enhance our main dish?
Scalloped Pineapple Casserole from Taste of Home. We just want to dive right in!
And we should definitely have a vegetable to complement our meal. Glazed carrots have often been a traditional holiday choice. So why not use some pineapple to sweeten them up?
Recipe Rebel has a great recipe and it’s made in a slow cooker so you can set it and forget it!
We did say we were creating new traditions this season, but it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t have a pecan pie for dessert. Well, don’t you worry, because we found a recipe for a Pineapple Pecan Pie! In honor of new traditions, we might have to serve dessert first this year.
Allrecipes you have made us proud!
And let’s not forget the optional nightcap. For those of us who like to warm our insides before going to bed. Cotter Crunch has created the most amazing Spiced Pineapple Rum Hot Toddy recipe. It’s almost too pretty to drink. Just kidding, can we get a refill?

As much as we’d like to say that Thanksgiving is about pineapple recipes, we really know that it’s about spending time with people you care about. You may not all be together this year, so but be sure to reach out to your loved ones through social media, via video chat, or even the old fashioned way.. make a phone call.
We hope that you have a wonderful holiday, and if you happen to make one or a few of these recipes, be sure to share with us on Facebook or Instagram by using the hashtag “#staypineapple”!
