GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER?
Back in April, some team members from Staypineapple Chicago and Atwood restaurant went on a road trip with Dash. They were on a mission that was taking them to Louisville, Kentucky. The home of Old Forester - America's First Bottled Bourbon™.
They were on their way to participate in a one-of-a-kind experience. Their mission was to taste and choose the best Old Forester Single Barrel bourbon, which would bare the Staypineapple name. The Old Forester Single Barrel Program only produces a limited number of barrels each year, and we are happy to announce that the mission was a success!
It is now late August, and we have received our branded bottles of brown liquor just in time to celebrate National Bourbon Heritage Month.
We invite you to visit our bars and restaurants and raise a glass to this great spirit. And in case you want to celebrate at home, we’re sharing our recipe for an Atwood Old Fashioned.
3 dashes Housemade Pineapple Bitters
1/2 oz Demerara simple syrup
2 oz. Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon
Garnish: Orange Peel
Instructions:
1. Fill a mixing glass with ice
2. Add the simple syrup, bitters, and bourbon.
3. Stir to combine and chill.
4. Place a large cube of ice in your desired glass
5. Strain contents of mixing glass into cocktail glass
3. Express the oil of an orange peel over the glass, then drop in and serve.
If you are in the Chicago area on Sunday, September 4th, you can stop by Atwood restaurant and bar between 12 pm - 2 pm to sample some Old Forester - America's First Bottled Bourbon™. Including our own Staypineapple Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon.
Of course, we want everyone to drink responsibly and respectfully. If you venture out and think you might want to try all the brown liquor, be safe and book a room with Staypineapple.
