September: the month where you’re either begging summer to hang on for a little longer, or can’t wait for a touch of chill so you can break out the sweaters.

Fortunately for social butterflies, the “wind things down and get ready for winter” tact is not the case when it comes to concerts and events in September as each Staypineapple city has plenty going on.

Fremont Oktoberfest - September 21-23 / Greater Fremont

British crooner Sam Smith brings his heartfelt catalog of songs from the past decade to one of Seattle’s largest venues (right next to The Maxwell Hotel). $26+

Florence and the Machine - September 10th / Key Arena

Another British success story, Florence and her machine will be filling Key Arena with soaring vocals and popular melodic anthems. $88+





Portland Beer and Music Festival - September 8th / Pioneer Square

Portland Beer and Music Festival promises unlimited samples of 50 craft beers, wines, and spirits, with food vendors, a DJ stage, and a live music stage indoors at the Tiffany Center. $35+

Feast Portland - September 13th - 16th / Multiple Venues

Taste Oregon’s bounty of wine, beer, cheese, and fine cooking; hear culinary stars speak on stage; and take cooking classes at Feast Portland. (Price scaled)

Journey and Def Leppard - September 28th / Moda Center

Two 80’s icons combine for a night of big hits and ballads at one of Portland’s largest venues. $31+





Outdoor Sumo Wrestling - September 16th / Japantown Peace Plaza
Sumo is an ancient Japanese tradition and martial art. Meet the wrestlers and watch matches during Sumo Champions Exhibition at Japantown Peace Plaza. Free.

Festa Coloniale Italiana - September 15th / On Stockton between Filbert and Union St.

Festa Coloniale Italiana features Italian food, wine tasting, music, vendors, and stage performances for all ages on Stockton Street. Free.

The Eagles and Zac Brown Band - September 20th / AT&T Park

Two of country rock’s biggest acts come together for a powerful show at AT&T Park. $26+





Kaboo Del Mar Festival - September 14th-16th / North Coastal

Lauryn Hill - September 9th / Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre

Women’s Expo - September 15th-16th / Rosemont Convention Center

German Festival and Parade - September 7th-9th / Lincoln Square

Chicago German-American Oktoberfest has German music, culture, beer, and food at Lincoln Square (Western Avenue & Leland Avenue). The Von Steuben Parade is Saturday at 2 p.m. Free

Billy Joel - September 7th / Wrigley Field

The Piano Man himself will be piano-rocking his way through the night at historic Wrigley Field. $26+





South Boston Street Festival - September 15th / East Broadway

South Boston Street Festival features live music and dance on two stages, 100 artists and local merchants, fair food, and children’s activities on East Broadway between I and L Streets. Free.

Harpoon Octoberfest - September 28th-29th / Cambridge

Harpoon Octoberfest features beer, bratwurst, waltzing musicians in lederhosen, and contests at Harpoon Brewery for age 21+.

Kevin Hart - September 21st / TD Garden

Iconic funny-man Kevin Hart takes to the stage to riff on modern culture and his own experiences. $23
