Seafair (August 2-4): $30+ for certain events
During Seafair Weekend Festival, watch hydroplanes race on Lake Washington in the Albert Lee Appliance Cup and the Blue Angels fly overhead in the free Boeing Air Show.
Bumbershoot (August 30-Sep 1): $109+
Celebrate the end of summer at Bumbershoot, a spectacular festival of music, film, comedy, and arts on Labor Day weekend in 13 venues at Seattle Center, including a main stage in Memorial Stadium.
Portland
Movies in the Park (August 2 - Sept. 1) Free
Movies in the Park feature live performances by local musicians, free popcorn, and movies at dusk. Bring coats. Alcohol is OK, but no smoking. Free.
VegOut! Portland Vegan Beer and Food Festival (Aug 10-11): $15+
VegOut: Portland Vegan Beer & Food Festival promises food vendors, speakers, local bands, DJ music, and vegan-friendly clothing, skin-care, and artwork at Holladay Park.
Art In The Pearl Fine Arts & Crafts Festival (Aug 31-Sep 2): Free
Art in The Pearl features 100 booths of fine art as well as music, food, and hands-on art activities along NW 8th Ave in North Park Blocks.
San Francisco
Outside Lands Music Festival (August 9-11): $155+
Outside Lands features an amazing lineup of 70 music artists and great food at Golden Gate Park.
American Craft Show (August 2-4): $10.50+
Shop from 250 contemporary jewelry, clothing, furniture, and home décor artists at the American Craft Show in San Francisco in the Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason Center.
Nihonmachi Street Fair (August 3-4): Free
Nihonmachi Street Fair features Asian artisans, performers, and food, plus a muscle-car show and a children’s area in Japantown. Free.
San Diego
CityFest Art and Music Festival (August 11): Free
This is San Diego's LARGEST and BEST art and music festival-- stretching nearly half a mile in size on over 9 city blocks!
Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition (August 10th): Free
It's time for the most adorable surf event of the year - The Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition, where fearless surFUR dogs will jump on their boards and hang 20! More than 60 dogs are expected to participate in this family friendly event, which raises funds for the San Diego Humane Society. Here are some travel options from Hotel Z.

San Diego Spirits Festival is THE major Cocktail Culinary and Cultural extravaganza celebrated annually each summer on San Diego Bay.
Latin American Festival/Mata Ortiz Pottery Market (August 2-4): Free
Latin American folk artists from Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador and Ecuador and more will gather at Old Town’s iconic Bazaar del Mundo during the annual Latin American Festival and Mata Ortiz Pottery Market. The event is one of the nation’s most extensive collections of genuine Latin American folk art, traditional embroidered clothing, handwoven textiles, unique collectibles, dazzling jewelry, handmade ceramic and clay pottery.
Chicago
Lollapalooza (August 1-4): $130+
Lollapalooza is a four-day music festival with more than 100 popular alternative rock, punk rock, heavy metal, and hip hop bands; comedy and dance; and craft booths in Grant Park.
Chicago Hot Dog Fest (Aug 9-11): Free
Chicago Hot Dog Fest features hot dog vendors, beer, music, and entertainment in Lincoln Park (at Stockton Drive and LaSalle Drive).
Chicago Jazz Festival (August 23-Sept 2): Free
The Chicago Jazz Festival showcases the greatest jazz artists from Chicago and around the world across the city during new, extended festival dates. The Chicago Jazz Festival is produced by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and programmed by the Jazz Institute of Chicago.
Boston
Boston Seafood Festival 2019 (August 4): $15+
The family-friendly Boston Seafood Festival offers live music, chef cooking demos, arts & crafts with a marine theme, a lobster bake, and small plates of seafood for sale on Boston Fish Pier.
Restaurant Week (August 18 - 23 and 25 - 30) $15+
Come into the city and enjoy that restaurant you’ve been eyeing with a special fixed price for lunch or dinner during Dine out Boston.
Boston Jazz Fest (August 30-31): Free
Salem Jazz and Soul Festival features live music, a beer garden, artisan vendors, and a kids’ tent at Salem Willows seaside park.

Summer Streets NYC 2019 (August 3-17): Free
The city closes Park Avenue and Lafayette Street to cars so you can play, run, walk, and bike car-free from Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park during Summer Streets, with food, entertainment, and activities.
SummerStage (August 1- Sept. 24): Free
Enjoy outstanding music, comedy, theater, dance, lectures, and films during SummerStage in city parks. The (mostly) free concerts are popular, so arrive early.
The U.S. Open (August 26-Sept 8): $70+
