New York

Contemporary Art Fair (Mar 5-8): Free

Clio Art Fair is a curated fair in Chelsea featuring artists without exclusive gallery representation. Held in March and October.

St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt (Mar 15): $25

Follow clues on a three-hour adventure around New York City with the help of a smartphone app on The Amazing St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt, which begins at Slattery’s Pub for ages 21+.

Comedy (Feb 26- May 24): $75+

“A gut-busting hit” [The New York Times], The Play that Goes Wrong features actors who fail hilariously while trying to stage a 1920s murder mystery at New World Stages.

Chicago

Blue Man Show (Mar 1-17): $49+

Blue Man Group puts on a colorful show that combines comedy, theater, music, and special effects for all ages at Briar Street Theatre.

St. Patrick’s Day - Green River (Mar 14): Free

Watch the Chicago River flow green at Dyeing of the Chicago River, with “best views from Wacker Drive between Columbus and Wabash.”

Festival of Colors (Mar 14): Free

Global Connections: Holi features Indian music and performances in the Aon Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier. Wear a white shirt to be permanently stained if you want to join the traditional throwing of color outdoors in the beer garden. Colored powder for sale while it lasts.


San Francisco

St. Patrick’s - Taverna Aventine (Mar 13): Free

St. Patrick’s Day Block Party has DJ music, games, food trucks, and drink specials both indoors and outdoors at Taverna Aventine for ages 21+. 

Harry Potter Live (Jan 8-May 28): $59+

Steps from Staypineapple San Francisco, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child features the grown-up version of Harry, Ron, and Hermione who must “grapple with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs” with illusions and magic at the Curran Theater for ages 10+.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Mar 14): Free

St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 2nd Street and Market Street and ends at the Civic Center. 


Boston

Chocolate Tour (Mar 14- July 25): $68

Take a two-hour walk learning about the history of chocolate-making, with four stops for champagne truffles and chocolate confections, plus a fifth stop for a chocolate cocktail on the Tipsy Chocolate Back Bay Walking Tour for ages 21+.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Mar 15): Free

Join 600,000 people celebrating Boston’s Irish heritage at the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which begins at Broadway subway station, goes to City Point, and then ends at Andrew Square.

Boston Beer and Cheese Festival (Mar 27-28): $65

Try New England-made craft beers and ciders from 25 breweries, and taste samples from 12 cheese makers at Boston Beer & Cheese Fest at the Cyclorama.


Seattle

Taste of Washington (Mar 19-22): $95+

Discover your new favorite flavor among Washington’s best wineries or one of the dozens of regional artisans at Centurylink Field Event Center.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Mar 14): Free

St. Patrick’s Day Parade includes Irish bands, pipers, dancers, and 2,000 marchers going north on 4th Avenue (from James Street to Westlake Park).

Emerald City Comic Con (Mar 12-15): $25+

Emerald City Comic Con is a large comic book, game, and popular-culture event at the convention center.


Portland

Basketball (Mar 4): $20+

Watch the Portland Trail Blazers play the Washington Wizards in an exciting home game at Moda Center.

Free Art Day (Mar 5): Free

Visit the Portland Art Museum on Free Days, which include the first Thursday evening of every month.

St. Patrick’s Day Family Festival (Mar 17): $4+

Hear traditional music, watch amazing dancing, buy food and drink, and check out the children’s activities at the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration by All-Ireland Cultural Society at Aquinas Hall.


San Diego

Abba Mania (Mar 4): $33+

ABBA Mania has been delighting audiences of all ages since it’s formation in 1999. In 2002, it played 18 weeks in the Strand Theatre London re-creating the Abba Phenomenon for fans from all over the world. Featuring a special concert presentation, which celebrates the music and style of Abba in a respectful and enjoyable way, Abba Mania revives special memories of when Abba ruled the airwaves.

Spring Busker Festival (Mar 7-8): Free

A Busker is a street performer known for their unusual and comedic acts in Boston’s Faneuil Hall or standing statue-like, painted in gold on San Francisco’s Pier 39. These artists perform for tips in public venues across the globe.

ShamROCK (Mar 14): $39+

Grab your green top hat and sequined pantyhose for a St. Paddy’s Day celebration to kick off the decade. St. Patrick’s Day ShamROCK San Diego is celebrating its 26th anniversary of Irish revelry in honor of traditional Celtic festivities. This event will host over 10,000 attendees, all welcome to as much green beer and Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey as their hearts desire. Festivities will begin Saturday March 14th from 2PM to midnight. ages 21+
